Product Overview – High Purity LPG Propane (C₃H₈)

Propane is a light hydrocarbon and a primary component of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). It is widely used as a clean-burning fuel and as a feedstock in petrochemical processes.

Typical applications include:

✔ industrial fuel systems
✔ petrochemical feedstock (steam cracking, propylene production)
✔ heating and thermal processes
✔ LPG blending and cylinder filling

The Role of Propane as a Feedstock for Polyethylene and Polypropylene Production

Propane plays a vital role as a primary feedstock in the polymer production chain. It is first subjected to steam cracking, where it breaks down to generate the key monomers for two of the world’s most widely used polymers. The cracking of propane yields ethylene monomer, which is immediately converted via polymerization into Polyethylene (PE)—a polymer essential for manufacturing packaging films, pipes, and containers. More importantly, propane itself is a major source of propylene monomer. Through polymerization, this monomer produces Polypropylene (PP), a material valued for its high strength and heat resistance, making it indispensable in the automotive industry, household appliances, and synthetic fibers.
