The head of the European Central Bank believes that the recession of the European economy will be short-term.
According to Economic, the head of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, once again emphasized that she will continue to increase interest rates in order to curb inflation and reduce it to the target range of 2%.
Lagarde said: The economic recession in the Eurozone will be short-term and shallow.
She expects 0.5% growth in 2023 and a return to previous growth rates in 2024 and 2025.
These projections are based on the assumption that there will be no additional shocks or worsening of current problems.
Emphasizing the importance of this process, the head of the European Central Bank pointed out: it is necessary to prevent the deviation of inflationary expectations and to note that wages do not contribute to inflation, and what is worse is to allow inflation to penetrate the economy.
